Pops and Sunshine Golf Book Review

Pops and Sunshine
by Dave Andrews

Review by Mikele Albanese-St. Germain

Attention RhodyGolf readers.  Take a break from your golf magazines and instruction manuals and pick up Dave Andrew’s new book, Pops and Sunshine.  It is a tale of two golfers. Lisa is a young hopeful from Tennessee on the Duramed FUTURES Tour and Dave is an amateur at a New Hampshire golf course who becomes her caddy.

Beyond the action on the golf course, Pops and Sunshine is the story of two people who help each other to heal from the individual tragedies that have touched their lives. A terrible coincidence connects Dave and Lisa and tempers their resolve to triumph over the competition on the tour.

Andrews gives great detail to the New Hampshire golf course and the beautiful New England scenery surrounding it. The author has an obvious passion for his subject and is an avid follower of the Duramed tour. His book details the extreme pressure and competition that these female rookies face. Sometimes there is grace under pressure, sometimes there isn’t. The final competition is a nail biter!

The people that you meet on and off the course in this book are regular folks who you can readily identify with. You might see a bit of yourself or one of your golf buddies within the ranks of the golf course regulars. Whether joking around in the clubhouse or casually conversing around the kitchen island in Dave’s home, you will find yourself warming up to the likeable cast of characters.

You may also find yourself reaching for the tissue box a few times as you cheer on this unlikely rookie and caddy pair.

For additional information about this book, visit the Pops and Sunshine website.
